Wilda 2004 "Artist of the Year" at Mineralientage München 41st Munich Mineral Show and Geological Trade Fair Munich, Germany. | Congratulations to Fred Wilda for being chosen as "Artist of the Year" at the International Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show in Munich, October 2004. Fred's mineral paintings are usually done in watercolors, usually from self-collected specimens or unique minerals specimens found at mineral shows or from friends. He also takes commissions from individuals who want their special specimens artistically rendered. Limited edition prints are available of most of his originals creations and you can see some of these at his web site, Natures Finest Creations!.
Fred's art work is in collections all over the US and abroad, and his prints are a perfect decorative item for your home. Several originals and prints are on display at the Gem Institute of America in Carlsbad, California. He has illustrated the recently release book entitled,"The Pegmatite Mines Known As Palermo" with over 130 paintings of minerals pertaining to the Palermo Mines, in New Hampshire.
Fred and his work can be seen at the East Coast Mineral Show in West Springfield, Massachusetts in August, the Tucson Show and several local shows throughout New England. Fred is very active in the Connecticut Valley Mineral Club, having served as former President, Vice President, Field Collecting Chairman, etc. - you name it, Fred has done it!
