Reproduction copies are now available from Rubellite Press.
If you are fascinated with the mineral tourmaline, its broad range of colors, gemstone properties and history, you must consider acquiring reproduction copies of these two books for your library. Full of Victorian period (late 1800's) information about the mineral world-wide, they also contain specific details about the location and specimens of Mount Mica Quarry in Paris, Maine. These two books have black & white images of the Mount Mica location and the author, plus color plates of the tourmaline crystals found at Mount Mica. As watercolor originals, these images were the first colored images of tourmaline ever produced and printed in the United States.
Original copies of these rare books are extremely difficult to find and expensive to acquire. Averaging $500 for The Tourmaline and $650 for The History of Mount Mica, only a few come on the market each year. Recent record prices on eBay have reached almost $1200 for The History of Mount Mica alone.
Rubellite Press has painstakingly reproduced these two volumes in exact detail, with the added benefit that their volumes are on acid free paper, which was not the case with the original books. Priced much lower than an original copy, these volumes will become a valued addition to your mineralogical and reference libraries.
