OK, I may have gone overboard but
without a real-life-let's-wager league, I've opted for the next best thing: A
handful of fantasy football
teams.
I'm going to try
Yahoo's (which has always been pretty good), ESPN's (free this year) and the
NFL's (also free this year). I'll try and focus on one team (probably the MacNN
Yahoo league though it may not be my best team) and touch on the others and also
how the three sites handle matters over
time.
I decided to join an
automatic league for the NFL since I don't want to be up at 5.30 am to make my
selections. That team will draft on the eve of the league kickoff (though if I
can find a different league that drafts at a time I'm awake on this side of the
world, I'll swop)...
ESPN,
team 1. Pretty well-balanced. I like the makeup of the team and also the little
looks of the webpage (such as the helmets). Still, it's not as easy to figure
out the menu as
Yahoo's.
Ram-heavy,
which I'll need to adjust but not a bad team. Could be good. Yahoo's layout is
easy and
pleasant.
This
is the team I'm liking and will likely follow so we'll call them RandSackers
1.
