From the canonical and administrative point of view, the Romanian Orthodox Church is organised as a Patriarchate, with the title of the Romanian Patriarchate. The Romanian Orthodox Church is autocephalous and unitary in its organisation, keeping its dogmatic, canonical and religious unity with the other sister Orthodox Churches, within the framework of the Universal Orthodox Church. The Romanian Orthodox Church has 30 dioceses and archdioceses in the country and abroad, in the dioceses in Romania there are 13,631 church units: parishes, monasteries and sketes. The pastoral and religious assistance is ensured by 42 hierarchs, 11,105 priests and deacons. The monastic life is developed in 531 monastic settlements in which 7,532 monks and nuns live in prayer, work and study. His Beatitude, TEOCTIST, Patriarch of All Romania, Locum Tenens of Caesarea in Cappadocia, Metropolitan of Ungro-Wallachia, Archbishop of Bucharest is leading the Romanian Orthodox Church.
