This piece arose out of an observation that women tend to cover up (with makeup and clothing), yet also reveal themselves in provocative ways. The form is a found object which has been covered in a decoupage of clippings from beauty magazines. It was then coated with layers of white shoe polish and a clear coat of polyurethane and covered with liquid latex. Areas of the latex were removed. After all, beauty is only skin deep.
