Wooden Fortress
This was the first in a series of "fortresses" inspired by an ancient Danish fortification, Trelleborg. This fortification was built in 985 to quell local uprisings after King Harald Bluetooth converted Denmark to Christianity. My work was created near a woodchip pile which was used as fuel by the Univeristy of Idaho. It is refuse from a local paper mill. The work no longer exists and most likely is now, literally, up in smoke.
