Past Aggressions 2

Previously on Farscape...
Moya's lost and the crew's running out of supplies. Crichton trades some of the remaining food for directions to a commerce planet called Disyl. But Aeryn panics when she hears the planet's name. A dark chapter in her history is about to unravel...

Disclaimer: The characters of Farscape all are part of that wonderful happy Jim Henson family. To put it simply: He owns them (but in a wonderful and happy way). I'm just borrowing them for some non-profit fun.

You should probably read Past Aggressions 1 first.

And now, on Farscape...

Past Aggressions 2
Crichton paced back and forth on the command. "Pilot, how long until we reach Disyl?"
"We should be there in about 55 arns, Commander."
"Let's slow down just a bit. We should find out why Aeryn's so worried before we're too close."
"Slow down?" D'Argo was standing behind John. "Pilot, stay at our current speed."
"Come on D, let's find out why Aeryn's afraid of this place before we get there."
"We don't have any choice, John. We can't last much longer without more supplies. You know that," D'Argo paused, "and so does Aeryn."
"Just give me some time. A few arns to talk to her. If we're going to fly right into danger, let's at least know what to expect!"
D'Argo knew John was right. "Two arns." He turned around and told Pilot to slow down.

----------

"We can't go there."
"Aeryn, we have to."
"No, John, we don't. I've been in this region before, there are other commerce planets."
"Where are they?"
"I don't know. They must be on the other side of Disyl. I know they're there."
"But how can we even find them if we don't have any starcharts?"
"There are several of them, it wouldn't be that hard." Aeryn knew John was right. They could find the other planets if they had time, but they didn't.
"You know we don't have that much food left." Even with his forceful bargaining, John had given up a large amount of food to the travelers. He could see that Aeryn knew this, too.
"Well," Aeryn paused, "to tell you the truth, I can't go to Disyl."
John was perplexed. "Why?"
"I want to tell you, but I can't."
"You can't tell me?" John felt a little insulted, and at the same time he felt a wave of deja vu.
"We have to leave it at that. I just can't."

"John! Listen!"
"Go away, Harvey! This is private!"
"No John, listen!"
"What?"
"You've heard this before!"
"I know, deja vu..."

"John?" Aeryn could tell John's mind was elsewhere. "John, are you alright?"
A wave of realization swept over John's face and he shouted "Ex-peacekeepers! Ullom! That's what this is about, isn't it?!"
Aeryn was shocked, not because John had figured it out, but because of his expression and his voice. She pulled herself together and replied, "Yes, well... no."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean no, it's nothing to do with Ullom or his people. This is something else."

----------

"We'll leave Aeryn on Moya. She won't come to the surface."
"No, D'Argo. The Disyian authorities will scan any ship that gets close to Disyl." Aeryn herself still couldn't think of a plan that would keep her away from the Disyian authorities. "And, if they suspect anything at all, they'll board and do a tier-by-tier search."
Chiana spoke up. "We could drop you off in a transport pod out here. Come get you on our way back."
Aeryn shook her head. "The Diyians patrol the space around Disyl regularly. If they catch a lone transport pod on their sensors, they won't leave it alone."
"How far away do their scans reach?" Rygel's interest in the situation was growing.
"That depends on the patrol patterns, but I'd guess we're probably already on their long-range sensors. Even turning around and coming back would look suspicious. Realistically, dispatching any ship at this point would be very dangerous."
There was a long, gloomy pause over the table. Stark suddenly spoke up: "Any ship they can see!"
It only took a microt for everyone else to realize what Stark was suggesting.
Chiana shouted "Of course!"
Rygel chimed in with "You're crazy, but you're still good for something!"
Crichton finally entered the conversation. "How long can you stay off the radar?"
"At least 30 arns." D'Argo didn't like the idea of not going to the planet with everyone else, but he knew Aeryn needed him.

40 arns later - about an arn away from Disyl - Pilot quietly let D'Argo fly the invisible Lo'La off of Moya.
