Ovation SuX
Ok so you got the inside scoop on the ovation
show... to the rest of the band and our loyal fans who came all that way to
watch us (i love you all dearly, it is you guys that keep me alive), we did
awesome. to me, we sucked. why? heres the scoop of what really happened, first
hand, first person, from the man who basically got fudgeed over, like always.
and of course, and i am probably the most critical of the band, when it comes to
our performances. anyway, we didnt even get a soundcheck in the morning when we
went there. we drove an hour and half to hand in our fudgeing money. fudgeing
pigs.
They soundchecked one band,
the first band. so us and A Farewell Approach toyed with the equipment a bit. i
still didnt really know how to use it, whatever. we went home, slept in the car,
i realized how not good Killswitch Engage was, but i still like them. we
practiced at petie's after lunch, then i slept. . . we are about to get on
stage, and i had just finished tuning our guitars and A Farewell Approach's
equipment as well. i didnt really tune the ibanez though; of course, when it was
important, the ibanez went ouf of tune constantly, of course it had to be me. im
so lucky. anyway, AFA finishes, we get on. i was told by matt from AFA to use
the stack on the far right because the one he used is done and broken. so i took
his advice, the nice person i am. problem was, the keyboard was on the side
nearer to the stack that was apparently "broken."
So i plugged into my amp, using a
fudgeing wireless system. lemme tell EVERYONE something, wireless systems suck.
well, most, i havent tried that many. one in fact. and MARSHALL CAN SUCK MY FAT
WANG. ive said it from the begining, marshall sucks. ive never used such a
bad system. first of all, the jackson's (the guitar i was using) pickups are
weak, then, a crappy wireless system plugged into a dying marshall stack. the
result: no sound, due to a broken signal or no signal at all (once again thanks
to wireless system run into a dying stack from a sucky pickup system). or, a
really really really really pussy sounding distortion. i played the absolute
worst i have every played in my life that night, and it was bad.
I was so mad, i could not take it. i
was yelling at everyone: the band, the techies, the poor girl who introduced us,
everything. so basically, i said, fudge it. i refuse to even make an effort. i
get fudgeed over so much. thanks matt from AFA. i used the shit amp you whore.
happy? i sucked, and now im pissed off again thinking about what happened.
whatever... everyone loved us, strangely. it was by far, my worst show ever.
you, the reader, probably wonder, but everyone else said the show was great.
yea, to them. to me, i try to forget it. sure, petie sang beautifullly, and
james was rockin', and jeff did his thang, and robert added them beats to that
honey. but tonight, the usual winner came out in the bottom. anger overcame me,
and i was i dick to everyone on stage. sorry. but mostly what pissed me off, was
the fact that they decided to do taken away, even though they knew my distortion
wasnt in existence and i would sound awful. that still fudgeing pisses the hell
out of me so much...
I cant talk
about this anymore. all this waste, all this time, all this hype, all this hope,
all this looking forward to. what a big waste... we didnt even win. we shouldve
won too. we clearly won, it was obvious we are the best band in the land. this
just shows the corruption and lack of true talen in the music business nowadays.
the bands that won were two screamo/anger management bands. they both sucked my
three testicles. its ridiculous how bad music has gone. heres what my good buddy
zakk wylde says (something along these lines):
"its so insulting to us hardworking
musicians to see people like ashlee simpson (or in our case, the winning bands
at ovation) get all this fame and shit. she cant even lip-sync to her own
fudgeing song. One day, i think im gonna play my CD onstage, shove a hockey
stick up my ass, and walk around stage like a douche bad, and people will say
'wow zakk is amazing, hes not even touching his guitar and hes still playing the
solo.'" screw you
"exposure."
