Jayne S. Longnecker, M.Ed.

After starting her carreer in the public school system, Jayne worked for 7 years CEDU's Hilltop School (now defunct) in Running Springs, CA. It is there she claims to have gained her experience running "emotional growth" schools and admits that Benchmark is heavily influenced from her experiences there. Among other things, Friendship workshop, of her own admission, was derived from CEDU's "Propheets". After working her way to the top, eventually becoming Director of the school, Jayne decided to start her own School. In 1993, Jayne started Benchmark Young Adult School.

Mike Martin
Resident Counselor

A self described "needle jockey", Mike provides much needed emotional support to the students at Benchmark via his "tough love" approach. By describing such touching experiences such as his time in a psych ward, Mike hopes the students will learn from his mistakes. A healthy dose of his loving flavor of profanity helps keep the more rebellious, manipulative, or just plum randomly selected students in line.
