Prius fans call this Prius the Classic since it was the first generation of Toyota's award-winning gasoline-electric hybrid car.
The EPA mileage rating for the car was 52 city/45 highway/48 combined. The actual mileage usually varied around 44-49 mpg. The top speed was electronically limited to 100 mph... I know from personal experience.
I really liked this car a lot... but nothing compared to how much I enjoy the second-generation Prius. |

I heard about the 2nd generation Prius in April (around the time when I took these pics).... it looked like a definite winner... and turned out that way when I got the new one a few months ago.
The Classic is at Ramey Toyota of southern WV... which also sells the new Prius.
The Classic was a very good car, and I never had a problem in the 22,000 miles that I used it. According to the Consumer Reports, the Prius is just as reliable as the Camry. |
