Home This is a website of the photographs and
digital scans of Boston artist Peter Harris. The
work has evolved over the years as an exploration
of the media - first photography then, the
digital realm. With the use of grids, repetitive
subject matter, and color, and formal composition
the elements of the medium are emphaisized. The
work exists in the world of abstraction; open to
interpretation and possessing a certain
beauty.
-
structures photographs by Peter Harris of
structures, buildings, structural elements. This
could be seen as architectural photography but it
exists in the fine art photography world in the
realm of abstract photography.
-
clouds Photographs of clouds by Peter Harris.
Using alternative techniques and a grid overlay
these photographs undermine narrative while
emphasizing the photographic medium.
-
cardboard / objects These photographs by
Peter Harris explore the grid via the use of
cardboard subject matter. Characteristics of
photography - narrative, veritas, perspective -
are undermined in a witty beautiful way.
Characteristics such as film grain, color, and
composition are emphasized.

exhibit information Bob’s Your Uncle Gallery
is pleased to present new work by Peter Harris.
This large scale work consists of black and white
digital files of found objects printed on red
rosin paper. In continuing with his use of the
grid, each piece consists of 63 digital files
stitched to complete the whole. The artifacts
from this digital manipulation vary in intensity
and belie the apparent straightforward nature of
the imagery. This tension between the seemingly
tangible, and the transient nature of the digital
medium, creates an environment within which the
imagery can be explored. Bob’s Your Uncle Gallery
