icarus's wings: folded paper construction Scott Kildall & Victoria Scott Huret and Spector Gallery, Emerson College
Photographing artwork involves a level of precision, technique and equipment to create high resolution detailed photographs with good color rendition and tonal range.
My work has appeared in books, magazines and catalogs.
The studio is equipped to take your original work and reproduce it as a digital file, fine art print, and/or design and outsource a file for promotional materials.

Equipment:
I use prime lenses with a full frame sensor camera. Where it makes a difference - generally with smaller pieces or close up work - I use flat field lenses to minimize distortion and to ensure proper focus. For smaller works on paper I use, if required, a vacuum easel.
Post processing:
I use 16 bit files until final jpeg /tiff output, and use color checkers for proper color rendition. I make most corrections in raw files to minimize post processing file degradation.
I take advantage of various blending techniques to increase tonal range and reduce noise in certain types of images.
I make full use of masking and compositing techniques when needed.
Printing /Promotion:
My studio includes a 24 inch wide 11 color archival inkjet printer. I have many years of experience in color printing - both for commercial and fine art work.
I use calibrated monitors: This is mainly useful for print output. I'm well versed in designing cards for print houses and would be happy to work with you to produce promotional materials from existing files or starting with original work.
Other:
If you need to scan images , repair or clean up existing files, or have other image needs, - get in touch and we can go over your project. If it's beyond my skills I can often refer you to the proper people.
