Some programs designed by Apple have toolbars that may be user
customizable. These includes programs like Mail, Safari, Finder
Windows, Pages and so on.
If a Toolbar should be
showing but is not, click the little oval at the top right corner of
the program window to display it.
To customize a toolbar:
Open the window containing the toolbar you want to customize.
In the menu, click View > Customize Toolbar or Control-click the toolbar and select Customize Toolbar.
A Toolbar Palette will appear. Drag icons you wish to add and drop them in the location you want to put them on the Toolbar.
Drag any icons you want to remove off of the Toolbar.
Drag icons from one location on the Toolbar to another to rearrange their order.
When you drag icons to the Toolbar a green ⊕ icon indicates you’re adding it.
When you drag icons from the toolbar a sound effect indicates it is removed and you can add it again if you want.
You
can choose “Icons with text”, “Icons Only” or “Text Only” from the Show
Popup window in the lower left of the Toolbar Palette.
