PowerCADD v6 for OS X and WildTools v7 Update

Engineered Software has been quick to correct all the glitches and bugs reported by users of PowerCADD v6 for OS X.

Alfred Scott has corrected some of the glitches and bugs reported by WildTools v7 users.

Both updates can be downloaded from Engineered Software's web site
Both updaters have been thoroughly checked by Evoy & Associates and both are highly recommended for all PowerCADD v6 users and WildTools users.

The PowerCADD v6 CF31 updater corrects a number things that eked through the thorough beta testing, plus it provides greater speed.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is these updaters are full installs that will delete all custom commands. Unfortunately it is a requirement of the update to do so.

To ensure that the update installs correctly, ensure that you have no file folders that have a name beginning with the word PowerCADD anywhere on your hard drive.

If you have, either change the name of the folder or compress the folder using Stuff It.

You will need your access codes for each of the product updaters. Each of PowerCADD v6 CF31 update, PowerDraw v6, and WildTools 7.03 update required to be install fresh. That is of course, if you have all three products.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Evoy & Associates support desk by phone or by email.

A PowerCADD v6 for OS X Demo Version is Available

For those who have yet to upgrade to PowerCADD v6, there is a PowerCADD v6 demo that you can download and run under OS X to sample how much further PowerCADD has progressed.

For those who have upgraded to PowerCADD v6, the PowerCADD v6 demo can be used as a ‘runtime” program that does not save changes.

In either case, the PowerCADD v6 demo can be freely distributed.

The PowerCADD v6 demo is available for download at this link :

The French version of PowerCADD v6 for OS X is on Schedule.

The French version of PowerCADD v6 for OS X is scheduled for release on or about 15 August 2003.

The “hold up”, again, is with respect to the time required to translate the manual.

PowerCADD v6 for OS X and Bit Images

For those who use photos and bit images within their PowerCADD drawings, you will find that PowerCADD v6 provides several new methods and tools for handling and editing photos and bit images.

PowerCADD v6 is fully QuickTime compliant, and besides allowing the importing and exporting of all the QuickTime’s translator formats, it provides the ability to apply QuickTime bitmap effects.

Beyond the QuickTime compliance, PowerCADD v6 provides the ability to convert objects to bitmaps, do bitmap transitions, and remap bitmaps into perspectives.

Then there is the ability to crop and uncrop imported photos and bit images as though they were Placed. All that PowerCADD 2000 v5 can do, yet much, much more.

Holidays and PowerCADD Sales and Support

Since we no longer operate from our cabin cruiser during summer, we are looking to have a “normal” vacation and do some travelling.

We will be closing our offices from July 16 through August 1.

After 14 years, cabin fever finally set in.

Our beloved cabin cruiser Orca is now “vacationing” others in the Kootenays.

For Product Support:

Our support desk telephone will be call forwarded to our travelling cellular phones, but our email will go unanswered until our return.

For Sales:

Our sales lines will also be call forwarded to ensure answers to all new product purchase enquiries and upgrade purchase questions.

Our fax line will still operate 24/7 but no one will be in our offices to respond or process orders during those two weeks, save our guard dog and security services.

Hope you all have a wonderful vacation and get a chance to enjoy our great Canadian outdoors this summer.

If you are coming through Winnipeg - home of the million dollar summers - please give us a call.

We would be happy to meet with you.

Have a happy and safe summer !
