As most of my gentle readers know, our family
watches almost no television. Last year, our TV was turned on for a few nights
of Olympics and to sob while George B beat the living shit out of Kerry. Not in
a million years would we turn the tube on for the Super Bowl. So it does not
surprise me that much that I completely missed the new Ellen
Feiss.Mandy Fujiko Amano, the Pepsi Girl,
was apparently in the Pepsi/iTunes tie-in commercial this year, and she is
hot.
Being
hot, she has attracted at least one fanboy who is either
a stalker or a great viral corporate stooge. The following is excerpted from his
site, reporting on a radio interview with Mandy in which fanboy Justin calls in,
as well:Obsessed
fan and blog creator Justin then came on the phone! Mandy: "I don't know whether
to hug you or slap you!" Why did he decide to
devote himself to her and create the blog? "I didn't have anything
else better to do!" He's in college in Michigan. Ralph: "Do you major
in Stalking?" Yes, he'll be getting the Maxim issue: "One to frame, and one
to...you know." Ugh! Bean: "To read, to read! I didn't like the sound
of that at ALL!" Mandy: "You've been very sweet." Bean: "And 'sweet'
is Japanese for creepy, right?" Of
course, for anybody who remembers the Ellen Feiss fanaticism, one has to wonder,
what is it about women associated with Apple advertising that drives us to such
