Crazy, man, crazy

I was in the bedroom reading Winter's Tale after dinner... Sören had had a meltdown because Ms Pope wouldn't let her listen to Prairie Home Companion in the kitchen because she was studying in the dining room; eventually I worked it out by getting Sö into her bedroom to listen to the show on her own radio (why was that so hard?). Peace, finally...

And down the hallway from Sören's room, I heard something completely unexpected and beautiful. Shawn Colvin was on the show, and I was half-listening for when she would come on (I haven't purchased These Four Walls yet, and am still trying to figure out if I want to). The song she sang first was a cover of Gnarls Barkley's hit Crazy. And it was gorgeous. I checked to see if it is on her new album, but it's not. She does appear to be pulling it out on tour, however...

Ms Pope wants to know why so many people seem to be covering a song that just came out six months ago... Cat Power played most of the song during an interlude in her set at ACL this fall, also...
