Boblog

Bob Mould has a blog!!!! This guy is the shit. I still remember learning about Hüsker Dü because Maura Whalen wore a ripped t-shirt for one of their albums, maybe Zen Arcade. Last summer, I was in Cupertino on business, and decided I needed a break and drove out to Santa Cruz. I bought a bunch of CDs for the ride (even though it's not a very long ride, I used the excuse), and one of them was Zen Arcade. I was in that kind of mood.
Of course, Bob was still living in Austin when I moved here, playing with Sugar, which was one of the best bands of the 90's. And Austin is, if nothing else, a town of musicians you can just call "Bob."

So, when a friend of mine who just moved out to San Fran told me he was going to see Bob Mould in concert, I got a warm fuzzy feeling of nostalgia. And I started to check out the blog, and all of a sudden, I remembered, oh yeah, this great rocker is gay. I forgot. And that really interested me. I mean, you don't forget that George Michael is gay. Or Scissor Sisters. Or Elton John. Or Freddie Mercury. These guys are queer and stick out in my mind as queer. But with Bob Mould, he is openly gay, but I just consider him as a rocker. His sexuality really isn't something I think about when I think about him. In fact, I think about Maura's old T-shirt, and how I would like to have that shirt today.

Here is a treat for anyone feeling like I am right now...
