A nice inn within striking distance of Boston is Concord's Colonial Inn in Concord, Mass.

Review: We stayed at this Inn to be able to get to Boston easily from the local train station rather than having to drive in ourselves. It was fine for that and for soaking up some history. The town is well preserved yet modern too. We thought the Inn was not the best value we've ever run across but it seems to attract alot of business travelers so the prices may reflect that. Overall though we have no complaints. The food was good and the historic atmosphere was appealing. We now feel more than ready for any pop quiz on what happened April 19th, 1775 in Concord, Mass!*

A wonderful inn to stay in when in Manchester, Vermont is The Village Country Inn

Review: We love Mancester anyway because it's a pretty town with tons of great outlet shopping. This inn just just makes the whole experience that much better. It's quite romantic with a fire going in the front room and rose petals left on your pillow every night. The food is quite good too and served in their beautiful restaurant. Sometimes they don't serve dinner though. But that's a good excuse to eat up the road in the warmly elegant tavern at the Equinox Inn.

In Stowe, Vermont our favorite in-town Inn is the Green Mountain Inn.

Review: It's right in the middle of downtown Stowe, close to shops and the 5-mile recreation trail that's great for biking, roller blading or liesurely walks. The rooms are all nice and the restaurant downstairs, called The Whip, has great food that runs from burgers to a full course dinner.

If you're doing the coast of Maine a wonderful inn to stay at is the Kennebunkport Inn in Kenne(you know the rest!). Right in the downtown, it's close to everything in this pretty, quaint village

Review: The dining rooms are beautiful and the food is terrific in this old Victorian. It has pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Our rooms there have had a nice decor and high ceilings. The location was the best part though because we liked being able to walk into town to shop or stroll along the docks, soaking up the coastal Maine ambience.
