Software
Barebones
software the makers of BBEdit and a couple of other neat software
packages have come out with a new software package. Yojimbo is an
information manager. You can store URLs, documents, serial numbers
and passwords. It has a specialized forms for serial numbers and
passwords. It also has 256 bit encryption so your passwords are
protected.
Currently, I'm using URL Manager Pro to manage my
bookmarks. I like it because it gives me access to my bookmark file
from any browser. I'm using Web Confidential
for
storing passwords and serial numbers. While neither of these are
information managers. They serve their purpose very well.
The information manager that I am currently using. is
DevonThink Pro. I use it
mostly for storing documents that I want to classify. And if you
look at both Yojimbo and Devonthink you will notice that they each
have a different focus, where Yojimbo is more focused on storing
internet related information. Devonthink is more focused on
creating a paperless office.
I can see room for each in any software arsenal. I would be using
Yojimbo for more of a URL and password manager and Devonthink for
other information.
