“This was created by slot car enthusiasts for all other slot car enthusiasts out there”
Unfortunately, as of 4/1/2007, we have decided to stop producing our items, there just is not enough demand to justify the headaches and the time spent on it. Thanks to all who supported us through the years, Slot-on !!!!
We’re just two regular guys with day jobs and a passion for slot cars
and electronics. We decided to provide hopefully useful but cheap electronic
gadgets for slots after we saw the interest expressed by some people that
frequent the slot forums and chat boards when they saw some of our
realizations. We combine 30 years of design and fabrication experience in the
electronics industry and will put that to work for you.
We are just a small garage shop,, but we stand behind our work and if
anything goes wrong we’ll be more than happy to resolve any issue timely, the
customer is King !!!!

The kits all come preassembled
and individually tested, with all LEDs already connected to the board.
All you have to do is mount the
miniature electronic board with double sided tape (provided), connect two wires
to your braids or motor contacts, mount the LEDs and you’ve got lights.
All kits come standard with white
super-bright headlights (so-called “xenon” lights). Yellow headlights for Le
Mans type prototypes are also available.

All kits include a voltage
regulator guaranteeing that the intensity of the LEDs does not vary with
throttle during operation.
All kits include a button
capacitor providing “permanent” lighting effects, i.e. the LEDs will stay on
for 15-30 seconds (headlights) to 1-2 minutes (tail lights) after power is
removed (or for example in case of a deslot).
All kits are designed to work
with track voltage of up to 18V DC.
We recommend 8V DC or more for
flawless operation.
The only thing to really watch
out for when assembling the light kits is to connect the wires to the guide or
motor with the proper polarity, i.e. the wire with the red strip needs to be
connected to the right braid when looking at the car from the top and in the
direction of travel. Failure to do so will result in the lights not operating
but could also lead to damages to the electronics if used for too long in the
wrong configuration.

RichD fitted a custom brake light
kit (Yellow LEDs instead of red brake LEDs to simulate exhaust flames on the
side of the car) in a Fly Corvette C5R with slot.it HRS chassis. Quote from
Rich: “I stuck the lights and wires in place with hot glue. The lights do not
vary in intensity as the cars go around the track and they stay on for quite a
while after the cars have stopped. The exhausts blink on when the power goes to
zero. The headlights are powerful enough to illuminate the track in front of
the cars. The headlights on the Corvette look yellow because that body has
yellow head light covers.”

Our
light kits turn out to be perfectly suited to upgrade the standard Carrera 1/32
lights to get “permanent” lighting effects. Check out how to perform such an upgrade in this article.
For
Artin 1/43-scale or equivalent cars, we recommend the simple light kit (no
brake lights), which will work well with track voltages as low as 6V and
accommodate better the space constraints of most 1/43 scale cars.
Our
kits come standard with 4” lead wires for the LEDs, which is just right for
1/32 scale cars. Should you need or want longer or shorter wires, please let us
know when you order (fee for custom work might apply).
This small (0.65’ x 0.9” or
16.5mm x 23mm) kit provides super bright white headlights and red tail lights. (Assembly Instructions)

This small (0.65’ x 1.2” or
16.5mm x 30mm) kit provides super bright white headlights, red tail lights, and
two additional high intensity red LEDs that act as brake lights, i.e. these
brake LEDs turn on for 1-2 secs whenever there is no voltage/power applied to
the car, i.e. when the trigger on the controller is fully released. (Assembly Instructions)

If you need LEDs to build a timing gantry or light bridge (as
shown here), you can use the following LEDs. We will provide them for you
pre-wired with a drop resistor and a length of wire of at least 1 foot. On
order, please specify whether you will be using a 5V or 12V voltage supply. WE
recommend using the lowest possible voltage as much as possible, 5 or 6 V
preferentially.
These LEDs will guarantee 4 inches or more working distance (vertical
clearance) with most standard Infrared sensors.

Driver stations are traditionally an essential part of any slot track;
this is where you plug in your controllers and where simple controls will
improve drivability and enjoyment on your track. In it’s simplest form, as
described in this article, you will enjoy:
Brake sensitivity adjustment (you
can decrease braking for these heavy magnet cars or use it in full for you
magnet-less cars)
Direction switching enables you
to drive on your track one way or the other. Yes, this way, cars on different
lanes can travel in opposite directions.
Self-resetting fuse protection on
your power and brake circuits
Simple solderless connections to
your power supply and your track
Wiring tips: picture 1,

As
of 11/15/2007 we are out of driver stations for an undetermined amount of time
