ToysÕR-Us (and Amazon) sell plastic 1/43 bodies for RC cars that can be easily converted onto Artin chassis. Examples of such conversions can be found here.
Some newer models of these Fastlane bodies include lights (2 yellow LEDs in the front, 2 red LEDs in the back).
In the following, we will see how to mount the cars onto an Artin chassis modified with an Electronic Goldmine 9330 motor and with the addition of two simple resistors, we will see how to keep the LEDs operational.
v First is to locate some of these Fastlane bodies: Amazon sells them, just do a search in the Toys department for Fastlane, or pick them up at the nearest ToysÕR-Us.
v Then, you will need the motor: this one can be found easily here.
v This motor is lower profile than the stock Artin motor and will let you mount the body while keeping the lights in the car.
v Just take the stock Artin motor (use a flat head screwdriver to remove the tabs that hold the motor in place) and replace it with the G9330 motor. To do this I usually put the motor in place with just a couple of drops of superglue and then add a copious amount of hot glue to hold it in place.
v Add a body mounting post in the front of the car (as shown below, glued in with Shoe Goop)

v Next add a piece of blue tape or electrical tape on top of the motor; this will avoid shorts later when you mount the body. Connect a red wire to the right braid of the car (looking from the top with the car in front of you) and a black or grey wire to the other braid.

v Connect the grey wire directly to the leftmost of the three pins as shown below. Connect the red wire to the middle pin via a 330-Ohm resistor (orange-orange-brown) and to the rightmost pin through a 100-Ohm resistor (brown-black-brown).
