This game is really different. It uses SOUND to direct the players and control the strategy of play. The sound is produced by a record player hidden inside the mummy casse. When a player lands on certain spots he must move a lever which starts the record. A mysterious voice speaks out a message telling the player what he must do. A player never knows which message he will get at any one time as there are twenty different messages on EACH side of the record and ANY ONE may be spoken at any time. Some messages may help, while others may be harmful to the progress of the player. For example, one message says, "Your blood will be drained by the evil leeches. RUN! Take a jewel from each opponent." The game takes place in an ancient Pharaoh's tomb which has a three level pathway scattered with jewels. Directy by the VOICE, the player travels up the steps, collecting jewels, to arrive at the MUMMY which contains the great jewel - but also the evil spell. Once a player gets the great jewel the record is changed. Still controlled by the VOICE, players in a mad scramble to avoid the "spell", try to get out with the most value of jewels to win the game. Game description provided by http://www.VoiceoftheMummyGame.com One version had no speed control and a battery compartment that held only one battery. Most auctions for this game recently have two battery compartments and the speed control. The mummy cases will be either silver or gold in color. Games will have either red small jewels with a green great jewel and cobra or green small jewels with red great jewel and cobra. ![]()

Are there scratches on either side of the record? Can you give me a guarantee that the record player works? Is a volume control featured in the game (one version of the game had it, another version didn't); does it have any effect? Does the Reset Lever (which starts the voice of the mummy message) work? Does the Stop Switch stop the turntable when messages are complete?
