Technology Applications Curriculum Guide

The Ysleta District has embrace technology as a intregal part of education by making technology available to both students and teachers. The Ysleta Technology Applications Curriculum Guide was created to assist all teachers in the integration of technology into their classroom curriculum.

This guide includes:

A Scope and Sequence so that a teacher can get a picture of which Technology Applications TEKS he/she should be covering and at what grade level.

Lesson plans for each of the grade levels along with sample products, so that a teacher may see what the end product will look like and recreate it. These lessons are intended to assist a teacher who is beginning to integrate technology as part of his/her instruction but isn't sure where to begin.

Evaluations for student products. These are rubrics or self evaluation forms that a teacher or students may use to evalutate end products.

Resources to further teacher use. These are other sites that a teacher may use to view lesson plans or activities that can be used in the classroom. The resources section is intended for teachers who are ready to move on from the basics.

Helpful Tips for technical assistance. These tips were designed to help teachers with technical instructions on creating actual products. These may be used as student instructions or as reference notes to give teachers an idea of how to create the actual product or as a simple reminder.

This guide was created by the Technology Applications Curriculum Committee which consists of several teachers from throughout our district. The Curriculum Committee has been meeting and planning for two years. The committee membership has changed over time, but the goal has remained the same; to make technology a part of the regular classroom environment and to assist teachers by making technology something tangible.
