1. Connect your camera to the firewire port on the computer. Turn the camera on to the VCR mode. 
2. Open the software on your computer that will capture your video: 
• MovieMaker2,
• iMovie, 
• Pinnacle Studio 8 (go to Help and View Tour),
  
• ULead.
3. Name your project and save it in an appropriate location (not on the network). You should always edit video on a local drive.
