I Hate It When This Happens !!!
These are some pictures of some unfortunate happenings.

Caused by a small piece of debris left in the head after machining.
This picture shows one of two cracks in this 302 piston skirt.
With Magnaflux, you can clearly see them both.
This is a burnt piston in a Buick V6 at the NHRA Finals 1999.
My 403 after dropping a carb nut in the intake. Guess which cylinder it went in.
Same pieces along with a tranny yolk I broke earlier that month.
A little too much camshaft lift maybe???
Ditto.
A severely cracked Weld wheel.
The same rim, from the back.
The next 9 pics are of VRA Sprint Car Driver Kenny Browns small block Chevy.
In this view, you can see where both sides of the block were blown out.
This closeup shows where part of the crank is missing.
Closeup of the cylinder, from outside the block!
The damaged oil pan.
The damaged oil pan with the rods and the piece of crankshaft.
Closeup of the rods, still attached to the broken piece of the crankshaft.
