Once upon a time

| Kewaunee, Wisconsin
I was born on July 25th, 1966, just south of Green Bay, Wisconsin in a little town called Kewaunee, which explains why I'm such a die-hard Packer fan. We moved to Bound Brook, New Jersey a year later, and stayed there until we moved to Van Nuys, California in 1978. That's when my life went from being a good Minister's kid to getting in nothing but trouble. I attended Millikan Jr. High School, and then proceeded to get kicked out of 3 different high schools.

Something to Prove |
| Just before my 19th birthday, in 1985, I decided I had to prove something and moved by myself to Austrailia for 6 months. Something about being able to get by 12,000 miles away from my now divorced parents. It was fun! I loved it there. In fact, if I hadn't been asked to leave the country, I might still be there today. After I returned from Down Under, I moved to Ventura, California. I went back to school at Ventura College taking automotive repair classes. For a couple years... |
...I took just about every automotive class they had. I went on to take and pass 3 ASE Certification exams. I keep those certifications current to this day.
The picture above, left, was taken in Pismo Beach in 1993, when I was 26. I was looking out over the ocean from my hotel room balcony. I miss that hair, and being that thin! |

| The 1990's |

| Peckerwoods is born. |
I started off the 1990's working at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Ca. I was a Unit Support Technician. It was exciting, but due to cutbacks, I was laid-off in 1992. I was re-hired in X-Ray 2 weeks later, and worked 2 more years there, before getting laid off again. I decided to open my own repair shop, and called it Peckerwoods Pit Stop. I registered the name with the state, and obtained the necessary licenses and permits, and have been in business ever since.
