The Great Library of Alexandra

The name is just a meaningless coincidence, it is actually named after the founder of the library, Sage Primus Alexandra. The library itself is different than what we generally think of as a library, being closer to a parochial university with a bit of oracle tossed in for good measure. It is the largest such institution in the world, and it can be found on a largish island off of the coast of the Old World.

Unlike in Westend, the rich families of the Old World still prize a good diploma. Due to this fact, large amounts of cash has been spent to relax the graduation standards at the Library. Unfortunately, since only a graduate of the Library can teach at the Library, this has had the effect of dumbing down the Library greatly. This is made even worse by the incestuous habits of wealthy. Those few promising students who do come tend to bleed to death from paper cuts.

There is currently only one person at the Library who is able to use the information stored there. It is the current oracle known as "The Bitter Old Hag" to the students. This name is fairly fitting, due to her disgruntlement at being stuck with this position until she can find a worthy replacement. She has been around for ten generations and has no good prospects in site.
