Traveler's Respite? Pfah! Nothing but fairy tales and wishful thinking. Yeah, yeah, I know, 'Anything is possible in the Mists.' But a place where age has no meaning, death holds no sway, and suffering doesn't exist? Sure, it's possible, as long as we are talking a cold, lifeless plain, but someplace where people live, come on. Where there is life, there is suffering. That's just the way it is.

Why do I seek Traveler's Respite? Well, call me selfish, but I'm tired of everyone I care about dying horribly. I'm tired of sifting through the ashes of villages for clues as to who sacked it this time. I'm tired of sitting with my back to the wall in case some young hotshot gets any ideas about building a reputation. I'm tired of being one lone hero against a never-ending army of evil. I've done my time, and I'm retiring. Traveller's Respite is the only place where people like me can truly retire.

Oh yes, I hear people talk about Traveler's Respite all the time. They seem to be kinda sad. Not about the Respite place, they kinda smile when talking about that, but about other things that happened to them. Bad things. That's why I call this place Gerk's Respite, 'cause I want the gerks to smile a bit when they think about this place. Course, it's hard to tell 'cause of the beaks, but they can still smile on the inside. I used to call it Traveler's Gerk, but the elvey guys told me Gerk's Respite would be better. Still don't know what Respite means, but, that's OK.

Oh, I am quite familiar with Traveler's Respite. No suffering, no death, just an eternal day of pure joy. This place must be destroyed.
