scrap that linksys

I picked up a linksys wifi router (BEFW11S4 ) from a thrift storel for $5 - it turned out to be dead, so I tore it up for parts

The BEFW11S4 is a 4 port ethernet and 802.11b WiFi router
It turned out the unit used a PCMCIA card for its WiFi
The unit has no antenna, but just jacks for the external whips
I thought the card might not be standard PCMCIA so I tried it in my ol 486 lappy
lo and behold windows came up with the name
and its a standard model!!!
And the antenna harness has beautiful pigtails and whip antennas
On the card end there is are MCX connectors
On the antenna end is RP-TNC style connectors
I tossed the main board, but apparently its hackable (Samsung 4510 based)
The moral of the story is - tear up your old router before tossing it.
