What is airsoft? It can basically be sumed up as a sport that is about simulating real-life combat situations. Played much like the more commonly known paintball, airsoft can be played in many different formats. The guns are replications of real firearms which in turn makes for a dispute in the interest of public safety. The most common type of ammunition used is a plastic 6mm bb. Safety goggles are always required for play and it is up to the player to chose the rest of his/her attire. For maximum realism, many players choose to replicate uniforms worn by real-life special operations teams.
