Random thoughts on random current events

These are thoughts that, in and of themselves, are complete, but just don't have enough meat on them to warrant their own separate blog entries

There's lots of things going on in the world today. Here are some thoughts on a few of them.....

Mark Felt has revealed that he was Deep Throat, the person who guided Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to the truth about the Watergate break-in. Irrespective of the level of his involvement in that event, I do not believe the crime warranted Richard Nixon's resignation. Period. Felt is alternately portrayed as a hero and a villain, while in reality he was neither. He was a man whose name wasn't erotic enough, so he chose a pseudonym that came from a reasonably popular porno movie at the time.

The Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) commission is looking into the closing of some of our military bases around the country. Savings notwithstanding, is it really a good idea to even be thinking of closing any bases at a time when our military resources are already stretched thin, and recruitment is consistently missing projections and expectations?

Of all of the aspects of scientific theory that may not be consistent with biblical teaching, why is evolution so vilified?

Did they really refer to Eminem as a "mentor" to other rappers during the MTV movie awards this year?
