CSV to vCard
This free web-based tool allows you to convert contacts into vCard format, from a CSV (comma-separated values) or tab-delimited format.
There are two versions of this tool now:
- Version 2
- Released December 2003, this version is compatible with IE for Windows, Safari, and Mozilla (including Camino and Firebird). However, it is not compatible with IE for Mac.
- Version 1
- Released September 2002, this version is generally inferior, except that it sort of works with IE for Mac. (Except that IE for Mac has a serious limitation on the amount of information its Javascript can handle.) Only use this if for some reason you are stubborn and only want to use IEMac, instead of a better browser :)
(Although this tool was originally developed to convert my contacts from Outlook Express to MacOS X's Address Book, I found out later that Apple provides an AppleScript to do the same...and it is able to convert groups, too. You should use that AppleScript to import contacts from Entourage, Eudora, or Outlook Express.)
