The Reappearance of the Mysterious Island has been inspired by a memory of childhood. Visions of a sequence of cinematografica as a version of the novel of Jules Verne. This sequence showed a giant octopus attacking on a beach some of the main protagonists of Ia pelicula, and saved by the Hero who kills the monster.
This vision took place when I was a child and lived in a small town in a province in Toledo. I saw a sequence that I contemplated on a television set through a window, since the set was within a bar and in that period (the 60's) the entrance of children was prohibited in such places.
It is very probable that the insistent memory of this vision determined my individual and emotional taste by the Ilamadas peliculas of B films that proliferated in the 50's in North America and England, peliculas towards which I profess great devotion and to which Reappearance of the Mysterious Island is therefore a tribute.
