Maes Gwyn, Pentrefoelas

In the community of Pentrefoelas. In the historic county of Denbighshire (Modern authority of Conwy, preserved county of Clwyd).

Shapeless mound behind farmhouse. Scheduled as Maes-Gwyn Castle Mound, a Prehistoric mound, otherwise described as a Bronze Age Round Barrow or a ?Motte. The site is just by the road at a point where rock outcroppings restrict passage and is consistant with several small motte in Wales which appear to have been customs posts. However, the site does also appear to be consistant with a barrow site.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
