In 1304 Jan 30, Thomas le Latymer (Thomas de Latimer) was granted, by Edward I, (In year 32 of his reign) a Royal licence to crenellate Braybrok (Braybrooke Castle)

"Licence for Thomas le Latirner to crenellate his dwelling-place (mansum suum) of Braybrok, co. Northampton."

Granted at Dunfermline, by privy seal.

Thomas de Latimer (b.c. 1270 - d. before 1334), 1st baron Braybrooke, grandfather to the more famous Sir Thomas Latimer the soldier and Lollard. Related to the William Latimers (father and son), the lords Latimer of Corby and Danby, who served Edward I and II in various offices.
