Dover Town Defences

In the civil parish of Dover. In the historic county of Kent (Modern Authority of Kent, 1974 county of Kent).

No remains of defences constructed during the period of the Hundred Years War which consisted of stone walls and gates. Murage granted 1324 and from then in almost unbroken series until 1483. But by Lelands time he was unsure whether town was completely walled. Some of the defences may have been sea defences.
