Pirton Village Defences

In the civil parish of Pirton. In the historic county of Hertfordshire (Modern Authority of Hertfordshire, 1974 county of Hertfordshire).

This site has been described as a;
Urban Defence.
  Confidence: It is probable that this site was a medieval fortification or palace.   Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.
Post conquest Earthen embankment defending village. Fragmentary remains only. PastScape says may predate castle and are no longer visible.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
