In the civil parish of Woolaston. In the historic county of Gloucestershire (Modern Authority of Gloucestershire, 1974 county of Gloucestershire).

Possible Medieval settlement remains, suggested as the site of a motte or Medieval/ Post Medieval farmhouse, are situated on the side of a small valley facing High Woolaston Farm. The site was first noticed in the late 1960's when walls standing to a height of 4ft were thought to be the remains of a tower or a square room. On aerial photographs the site appears fairly complex and comprises a series of quarries, mounds and what appear to be building foundations. It is unclear what these remains represent but they appear to be a combination of quarries, upcast and building/wall foundations, perhaps the site of a settlement which has been subsequently quarried or the site of a quarry with associated ancillary buidlings. A system of Medieval/Post Medieval ridge and furrow situated immediately to the south and east may be associated with the site.
