Faxfleet Hall Garths, Blacktoft

In the civil parish of Blacktoft. In the historic county of Yorkshire East Riding (Modern Authority of East Riding of Yorkshire, 1974 county of Humberside).

Moat. This is probably the site of the Knights Templar's C12 preceptory which was held by the Crown 1322-26. The preceptory of Faxfleet was one of the most important in the country, and when suppressed between AD 1308-12 its value was 290 pounds. May have had defensive features.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
