SANDRA ELIOT - Painter & Sculptor


BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Sandra Eliot obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Pennsylvania State University and took graduate courses at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.

She exhibited in various galleries in and around Philadelphia including the Batoff Gallery in Philadelphia and the Phillips Mill and Spirit of the Earth Galleries in New Hope.

Commencing in 1978, Eliot travelled extensively in Europe. She settled for 2 1/2 years in Paris, painting and studying including studies with Stanley William Hayter at the Atelier 17.

Paintings by Ms. Eliot were selected for the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1979. She was also invited to exhibit at the Mairie du 3eme Arrondissement in Paris by Mayor Luc Collet. Additionally, she had a solo show at the Galerie Canel and showed at the Galerie ks and Hotel Sofitel in Paris.

Additional shows include the Isabel Oscroft Gallery in London, Roseville Gallery in Sydney, Australia, Ward Nasse Gallery in New York City and the Biennale Internationale des Arts, Nogent-Sur-Seine, France.

ARTS IN SPECIAL EDUCATION PROJECT 01: PENNSYLVANIA

SANDRA ELIOT

Sandra Eliot is a professional artist with six and one-half years' experience in public school teaching, grades Kindergarten through 12. This experience includes all special education classes in K-6.

Sandra has participated in various children's festivals such as the "Exceptional Children - Exceptional Arts Festival" at the Philadelphia Civic Cente r.

Sandra has traveled extensively in Europe and lived in Paris, France for approximately three years doing artwork and exhibitions. She studies viscosity pn'nting of etching plates with Sir Stanley William Hayter and has shown in the United States and France; Sydney, Australia; Zurich, Switzerland; London, England; and China. Sandra has pieces in private collections in many of those locations.

In Service Workshop

Sandra will lead the workshop participants in experiences with many different maten'als Such as clay, constructions, collage, printing of collagraphs or found objects, color experience, texture rubbings according to the students' needs and abilities. Experiences can be developed which augment concepts or topics being studied and, in general, develop self-confidence and allow their creativity to be used.
