VOLCANO STEAM VENTS
We drive around the south end of the
island.
The entire island is made up of gently
sloping lava.

We enter an area of steam vents. This is where
rainwater seeps down to the hot rocks
underground.

Our first view of Kilauea crater is
awesome.
The drive around the rim is eleven miles.

Little ferns seem to thrive around the
vents.

Phil warms his hand. The steam is quite hot.
