SOUTH HAWAII
On our way back to Kona from the volcanoes
we make a stop to see the Black Sand Beach.

The sand is as soft as white sand.

We later take the road to South Point, the
southernmost
tip of the United States. This is ranch land; green fields
which slope down to the sea, a few horses,
cows, and a
one-lane road. At a wind farm we stop to listen to the
strange humming of the windmills.

South Point has constant wind, strong
currents, and big fish.
This is a fisherman's area.

Travel due south to the Antarctic.

Now we must make our way back along that
same little road.
