Phil and Judy's Homepage Welcome to our home page where we share our family photo album of kids, grandkids, vacation travels, and other sundry things. In the photo to the right, we are just about to leave on a whale watching cruise when we were vacationing in Kauai in March 2004. Kauai is one of our favorite places as you can tell by the vacation travels shown below. |

Colophon The bird featured on my top banner line is a Great Frigate bird with a wingspan of about 7 to 8 feet. This is a seabird that dives from a great height straight down into the ocean to grab his evening meal: fish. The Great Frigate bird is also considered a pirate bird that intimidates fellow seabirds and steals their food. Great Frigate birds mainly eat fish and squid. They occasionally supplement their diet with crustaceans, jellyfish, young turtles, baby birds, and eggs. We took this photo at the Kilaueu Refuge on the island of Kauai in March 2004. From a certain angle, these birds look like giant Pterodactyls as can be seen in the picture to the right. This is another photo we took at the Kilaueu Refuge a year ago. |
