Hacımusalar Project Regional Survey
Information
Pedar W. Foss, DePauw University
The Hacımusalar Project Regional Survey, in the uplands of the Elmalı Basin and in the region of ancient Lycia, Turkey, began in 1992 by Prof. Dr. Ilknur Özgen of Bilkent University. Starting in 1996, American-Turkish cooperation emerged under the leadership of Prof. Özgen and Prof. Mark B. Garrison of Trinity University (San Antonio TX) through the especial assistance of the Associated Colleges of the South. In 1997 Prof. Pedar Foss, currently of the Dept. of Classical Studies at DePauw University, joined the project, and began to direct a new phase of the regional survey. Fieldwork represented by this page continued through the 2005 season.
This brief page collects a few key resources related to that survey until ongoing issues related to publication and future fieldwork are resolved. It makes available only resources previously put online or presented at professional conferences and therefore exposed to the public domain. The materials do not constitute final publication in any way, but do summarize the progress of the survey's methods and results to date.
N.B. The fieldwork was the effort of many dedicated individuals (named in the documents as appropriate). P. Foss, however, takes sole responsibility for making this website available. He does so towards the discharge of his professional responsibility to share preliminary results of this work, and here (again, the disclaimer), only work that has been previously made public.
