A view of two book boxes that will go to two lucky schools

A closeup view of one of the book boxes. Well worth the $180 sponsor donation

After the bookmobile arrives at the wat across from the school the librarian

lays mats out on the dirt for the over 100 students to sit on

Inside the bookmobile before the students come. They need quality books!

These girls came first and quietly sat on the mat to look at a book together

The librarian sits on the mat and students begin to gather round

She brought a recently published Hmong folktale to tell

She was amazing, a gifted storyteller and I wish I had brought my video camera

Lao schools have no budget for books or supplies and this bookmobile and the

book boxes are the only way that Lao students get a chance to check out a book.

The students were totally mesmerized by the story the librarian was telling

You can see the wat on the left and the school on the other side of the road

The monk's living quarter serve as a backdrop for the storytelling in this shot

Storytime is over & the students return to the bookmobile to look for mor...

So many students and only one smallish bookmobile...

Needless to say it gets a little crowded in the bookmobile!

The driver checks out books and then decides he wants to read a story too

What a setting to read the Three Billy Goats Gruff! I wonder what Buddha thinks?

After the story the students stayed in the wat to look at their books

Some students wanted to gather around together to look at the books

Girls enjoying looking at the Hmong folk story the librarian had read to them

Sometimes it's better to go it alone

A few stragglers get a book before returning to the school

This girl was a great helper, picking up books and putting them away
