We wanted to visit a remote Hmong village but the mountain road was washed out and we ended up having a great time at a "lower" Hmong village

I rented this Land Cruiser at the last minute and we crammed in ten people

We visited with the Khmu family a little bit when walking to a Hmong village

Khou videoing a Hmong woman, who I learned was a relative of one of my students

I was so surprised to meet "Mai's aunt" who I actually met once before

Mai's aunt with one of her daughters she would like to introduce to an American

I like the expression in both this mother and her baby's eyes

My friend Jim, his wife and daughter reading an American folktale illustrated by

Hmong students in his wife's class in Wisconsin. Xong translated the story in

Hmong to the delight of the crowd gathered round.

Jim's family's storytelling were a big hit, as can be seen by these girls
