ORGAN RECITAL & CHORAL CONCERT
at Trinity Methodist Church Barton-on-Humber on Friday, 9th March at 7.30 pm Lindsey Women's Institute Choir Conductor:Graham Saunders Organ: John Pemberton |
As many will have seen the transfer of the organ from St. Peter's is proceeding at a great pace. Despite a fortnight's delay at the beginning of January, we are still hopeful that the organ will be completed in time for the Confirmation on Sunday 8th April, when we hope that the Bishop of Lincoln will dedicate the rebuilt organ at the beginning of the service.
If our hopes do not materialise, there seems to be little doubt that we shall have things in order for Easter Day.
The organ building team from Jardine & Co of Manchester are most impressed with the fine workmanship and material of the organ.
Meanwhile we are very grateful to Mr. P. Pape for the use of his grand piano whilst we have no organ in St. Mary's. We are also indebted to Mr. Thompson of Whitecross Street for building the base of the organ with practically no notice at all.
