SPONSORED TABLE TENNIS MARATHON
Friday 2nd November (and 3rd and 4th etc.) start at 8pm Five Church mernbers, Richard Emerson, Frances Bain, Susan Wright, Roger King and Margaret Sidell, are to play table tennis, two at a time, for as long as they can, possible through until Sunday. We are hoping that people will sponsor us together, for the number of hours we can play - or endure. We shall be playing at 12, Birchdale, if anyone wishes to come and see us. Proceeds for the New Hall Fund. |

BRING YOUR NEWSPAPERS TO CHURCH
Not just to read during the Sermon! With the rapid rise in the cost of newsprint, it has become well worthwhile to collect old newspapers and magazines printed on newsprint, for salvage. The present salvage price is £8 per ton. To prevent this huge waste and to further the fund for the new Church Hall, we shall be glad to receive your old newspapers - bring them to Church on Sunday and drop them in a container provided there. It's amazing how much a newspaper weighs. Barton reads well over a ton a day. It would be helpful if the newspapers could be tied with string, but this is not essential. The container will be available in Church from the beginning of October. |
