| We are very grateful to MR. WARE for managing to unblock the drain on the East side of St. Mary's porch. It was thought it might be necessary to excavate the main church approach and re-lay the drain if we were to avoid a flood every time it rained. |

Last month we published the amounts which had been given or promised to us for the repairs to St. Mary's which are now in hand. In addition to the £330 mentioned last month, we have now heard from the following:
Marshalls Charity £850 Historic Churches Preservation Trust £730 Society of Antiquaries £30 (additional amount) This brings the total so far to £1940 |
| The grant of £200 mentioned last time was from the Lincs. Old Churches Trust, not from the diocesan building committee. The Diocesan Building Committee have seen that we are now able to pay for the whole of stage 1 of the repairs and have asked us to apply again when we are planning stage 2. This is so that their available funds can be used where there is an immediate need. |
| So far completed are the re-covering of the vestry roof and the rebuilding of the South Parapet wall to the Chancel. Under way are the lead-work repairs and the pointing of some of the masonry. |
