NSF Visualization Challenge 2007

This competition's full name is the International
Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge, run
by the National Science Foundation and
the Journal Science. I have won a
Semifinalist honor in the category Photography
with this picture called "Four Dimensions".
In it we see radial spreads at three separate stages; before they start, during the initial stages of three-dimensional movement, and later on when the spread is much bigger. Therefore time, the fourth dimension, figures highly in this image, where different stages of the rapidly and radically changing spreads are juxtaposed.
